Writer's Block isn't a failure to write...
...it's a failure to communicate. It doesn't matter what industry you're in, what position you hold, or what endeavor you're pursuing. Engaging communication is vital; especially in this day and age.
There is a never-ending war being waged for your public's attention. Fifty years ago, all you needed was a celebrity pitching your product, or a nice little jingle that kept you top-of-mind to your market. Even going for simple "name recognition factor" would cut it ("I've seen that name somewhere, I think I'll buy it"). Today, the tides have turned, and marketing yourself, your company, or your product is more about targeting your communications to what your public needs to hear, than simply getting their attention.
How do you reach your public? Do you know how to build an enduring relationship with them?
Life is an ongoing battle of public relations. A public relations campaign can be just as much a general effort to persuade others to your cause as it is a major marketing campaign for a large organization. It's about communicating effectively in the way your target market can understand.
Public relations isn't an job or a position, it's a relationship, and your own definition of public relations will determine whether you succeed or fail.
Writers block isn't simply a casual blip en route to writing a book or saying something just the right way, it's a public relations influenza that can inhibit your career, your organization's marketing, and even your life.
This site is designed to be more than merely a public relations or marketing and advertising resource, it's a guide to creating a successful and enduring relationship with your public whether they're customers or colleagues.
What's your definition of public relations? Is it working?
